THEDEMIT is an independent horror game studio born from the shadows of Indonesia's richest folklore. Founded in 2019 by a small group of passionate developers, artists, and storytellers, we set out with one obsession: to make the world feel the fear that has haunted Indonesian nights for centuries. We are not just game developers — we are myth-keepers, nightmare architects, and digital storytellers.
Our team operates from the heart of Indonesia, drawing from the country's vast cultural landscape — from the dense jungles of Kalimantan to the terrifying midnight streets of old Javanese towns. Every corner of our games is soaked in authentic atmosphere, cultural detail, and genuine dread.
OUR STORY
It started in a cramped apartment in Bandung, 2019. Four friends — tired of horror games that felt foreign and disconnected — decided to make something different. Something that felt like it could only come from Indonesia. They pulled from childhood bedtime stories, local ghost sightings, and the kind of urban legends that spread through school hallways in hushed voices.
What began as a passion project quietly grew into something far larger. Today, THEDEMIT has shipped multiple titles, built a devoted community of horror fans across Southeast Asia, and earned a reputation for games that don't just scare you — they make you question what you thought you knew about the dark.

WHAT SETS US APART
The horror genre is crowded — but almost none of it sounds, feels, or looks like Indonesia. THEDEMIT games are built on real folklore: Kuntilanak, Pocong, Genderuwo, Tuyul, and the dozens of lesser-known spirits that haunt specific regions and communities across the archipelago. We work closely with cultural researchers to ensure accuracy and respect.
Our environments are drawn from real places — coastal fishing villages, abandoned Dutch colonial buildings, isolated mountain hamlets. The result is horror that feels lived-in, specific, and utterly unlike anything made in the West. When you play a THEDEMIT game, you are not visiting a generic haunted house.
